As I have always admired Caspar Friedrich’s paintings, after getting confident enough with acrylics I wanted to dare copying it’s well-known “Wanderer above the sea of fog” as master copy. I started with a raw sienna background, filling in darks with burn umber and lights with titanium white, when gradually shaped everything out using thin layers sometimes mixed with glazing medium (glossy).
